Lowell Milken, chairman and co-founder of the Milken Family Foundation shaking hands with 2015 Milken Educator Award Recipient John Lary, a history teacher at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport. In recognition of Lary’s achievements, Milken told the assembly "I believe that greatness in education should be recognized, too. Only if we elevate the teaching profession can we expect talented young people to choose the adventure of teaching."
