Lowell Milken's James Bryant Conant Award Acceptance Speech

June 29th, 2017 - After accepting the 2017 James Bryant Conant Award at the Education Commission of the States National Forum on Education Policy, Lowell shared with the audience about the many successes of the TAP System for Student and Teacher advancement, of which he is the Founder and Chairman: "TAP is the largest multi-year, multi-state, voluntary effort to create performance-based teacher and principal evaluation and compensation systems ever. It has had a huge and measurable effect on educators and students in schools of every kind—urban, rural, public, private, tribal, charter—at all grade levels PK-12. Today, over 250 school districts; 6,000 schools; 250,000 educators; and 2.5 million students across 12 states are impacted by the work of TAP and the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching which operates it."
